Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Speaks on Marcos Jr. Admin’s Response to Current Situation
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President slammed Pres. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. anew amid the soaring oil costs in the Philippines.
The war in the Middle East has greatly affected several other countries including the Philippines. It has brought soaring oil costs that countless Filipinos are currently struggling with.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos previously ordered the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) to talk to Iran for the safe passage of the oil shipments at the Strait of Hormuz. Tehran placed restrictions in the passage at the Strait after it was attacked by the United States and Israel and it affected the international oil flow.
Iran agreed on the safe passage of the oil shipments bound for Manila. However, according to the Department of Energy, the Filipinos should not expect immediate relief with regards to the soaring pump prices in the country.

According to DOE Secretary Sharon Garin, even if the conflict in the Middle East may be resolved, it may take some time before the pump prices will be pulled below P100 per liter. She stressed that the situation cannot be predicted yet and diesel even has the possibility of reaching P200 per liter depending on what will happen next.
Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte was asked about her personal view if what the Philippine government can do to help the people amid the situation now. Based on News5, in her response, the Vice President chided the Marcos Jr. administration.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte said the question should be about what the government should do. According to her, it is allegedly Pres. Bongbong Marcos who should be asked about what he is doing to help the Filipinos who are affected by the oil crisis in the Middle East.
“Maniwala ko kung ang tanong is ano ba dapat ang ginagawa ng pamahalaan. Ay dapat tanungin natin ang ating Pangulo noh ano ba’ng ginagawa niya para tulungan ang mga kababayan natin na tinatamaan o nahihirapan dahil dito sa epekto ng krisis sa Middle East,” the Vice President said based on the post.

Previously, amid the rising pump prices in the Philippines, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that her office is implementing “cost-cutting measures”.
