Kiko Barzaga Comeback Sparks Buzz As He Hopes To Avoid Another Setback
KIKO BARZAGA – After months of controversy and suspension, Kiko Barzaga is finally back in Congress and ready to turn the page.
Cavite 4th District Representative Kiko Barzaga has returned to the House of Representatives following a series of suspensions, expressing hope that he will no longer face another disciplinary action as he resumes his duties.
In a media interview on Monday, May 4, 2026, Barzaga addressed the possibility of being expelled or subjected to a third suspension. Despite the uncertainty surrounding his position, the lawmaker maintained a composed outlook, saying he would be able to move forward regardless of the outcome. “Even if I lose my job in Congress, I’m pretty sure I’ll be fine since I have plenty of other opportunities,” said Barzaga to the media.

He also shared optimism about his return, emphasizing his desire to continue serving without further interruptions. “I’m glad to be back. Hopefully walang suspension or expulsion.”
Barzaga was first suspended on December 1, 2025, reportedly due to controversial social media posts, including remarks directed at the current administration. After serving a 60-day suspension, he faced another penalty in February 2026, when a second suspension was imposed over alleged repeated violations related to his online statements.
Despite these setbacks, Barzaga has remained firm in his stance. He previously stated that he is ready to accept any decision handed down by what he referred to as the “House of Crocs,” signaling both defiance and resignation toward the situation.

The congressman has also been linked to allegations involving former House Speaker Martin Romualdez, particularly regarding supposed irregularities in controversial flood control projects. In September 2025, Barzaga began openly criticizing Romualdez’s leadership after leaving the National Unity Party. His departure from the party reportedly stemmed from accusations that he was attempting to remove Romualdez from his position.
As Barzaga returns to Congress, questions remain about whether tensions will escalate or if he will be able to maintain his position without further sanctions. For now, he appears focused on moving forward while hoping to avoid another suspension that could once again disrupt his role in the legislature.
