The video of the confrontation showed a group of teenagers gathered along Ilang-Ilang Street before the situation suddenly turned violent. A heated argument quickly escalated into a physical fight.
Some of those involved were seen throwing punches, while others reportedly hurled bottles during the commotion.
One of the teenagers allegedly picked up a bladed weapon and stabbed his rival in the back. The 15-year-old victim, identified as Potchi, suffered a serious wound and was rushed to the hospital on a tricycle. Despite receiving medical treatment for nearly a week, he passed away.
Barangay officials later learned that the fight involved two groups of teenagers, with three individuals on each side. Authorities immediately responded to the scene, but the stabbing suspect had already escaped before they arrived.
Potchi was able to tell his mother about the incident. Based on his account, the trouble reportedly started after a disagreement between the two groups. A simple misunderstanding eventually grew into a violent confrontation that ended in tragedy.
Family members described Potchi as a young boy who loved playing basketball and dreamed of becoming a police officer someday. His sudden death has left his loved ones heartbroken, not only because they lost a family member but also because his hopes and plans for the future were cut short.
The victim’s relatives are determined to pursue legal action against the suspect. Police have already identified the teenagers involved in the incident, all of whom are also minors. However, authorities have not released further details as the investigation continues.
