Navotas Rep. Toby Tiangco Speaks on VP Sara Duterte
TOBY TIANGCO – The Navotas Representative is ‘1 million percent sure’ that Vice Pres. Sara Duterte will hold the culprits of the flood control mess accountable.
Amid the impeachment raps hurled against her, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte previously declared that she will run for president in the 2028 Elections. Her declaration came amid the flood control mess in the Philippines.
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has become very controversial as many of their officials were tagged in the supposed multi-billion flood control corruption in the government. Several members of the House of Representatives are also accused of alleged flood control corruption.
Moreover, there are even some senators and former senators who were tagged in the flood control mess. The issue triggered the so-called Trillion Peso March.
Thousands of Filipinos joined the Trillion Peso March which was held in September and November 2025. The people called for accountability from the government amid several officials being accused of alleged flood control corruption.
Even Pres. Bongbong Marcos himself was tagged in the flood control mess. Former House Budget Appropriations Committee chairman Zaldy Co who is accused as one of the alleged main role players in the issue accused Marcos Jr. and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez of alleged corruption.
Co was already out of the country when the flood control issue broke out. As of this writing, he has yet to be brought back to the Philippines after Marcos Jr. revealed that he is in Portugal but admitted that it is not that easy to take him back to the country.
Amid the claims of Zaldy Co, Navotas Rep. Toby Tiangco believes that Pres. Bongbong Marcos is allegedly not involved in the flood control mess. Tiangco whose wife is a cousin of both Marcos Jr. and Romualdez, claimed that he allegedly heard the President confronting the then-House Speaker about his and Co’s corruption.
Amid the unresolved issue of the supposed multi-billion flood control corruption, Navotas Rep. Toby Tiangco expressed his belief that Vice Pres. Sara Duterte will allegedly hold the culprits of the flood control mess accountable if she wins president in 2028. Based on a report on GMA News, he is ‘1 million percent sure’ about it.
“Honestly, tingin nila maaareglo nila iyong iba eh. Pero si Sara, sa tingin nila, hindi nila maaareglo. Kasi ngayon, wala pang napapanagot eh. Ang sinasabi ko lang, si Sara, one million percent, hindi nila maaareglo. So kung ikaw ‘yung may kasalanan, gusto mo bang manalo yung 1 million percent [na] hindi mo maaareglo?,” Tiangco said.
Based on the report, amid his belief that Vice Pres. Sara Duterte will really hold the flood control perpetrators accountable if she wins president in 2028, Navotas Rep. Toby Tiangco clarified that he is not passing judgment on any other individual who may also win the presidency.
“Hindi ko hinuhusgahan yung ibang kandidato. Ang sinasabi ko lang, ito (Vice President Duterte), siguradong hindi nila maaareglo. Alam ko ‘yun at alam nila ‘yun,” the Navotas Representative said.
Amid several issues in the country, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte recently criticized Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. anew over his alleged shortcomings as the leader of the country.
