NUEVA ECIJA – A workplace dispute allegedly turned into a deadly plot in Nueva Ecija after a woman reportedly paid ₱29,000 to have her former coworker killed.

Authorities arrested a woman and two men allegedly involved in the attempted killing of a utility worker inside a fast-food restaurant in Nueva Ecija on Monday morning, August 24, 2026.

According to reports, the attack was allegedly planned and may have stemmed from the female suspect’s belief that the victim was responsible for her losing her job. Investigators said the woman strongly blamed the victim for allegedly influencing their management to have her dismissed.

Authorities further identified the two male suspects as the alleged gunmen hired by the woman to carry out the attack. The total amount reportedly paid for the operation was ₱29,000, with the money divided among those involved.

Investigators said ₱13,000 was allegedly given to the motorcycle driver who served as the getaway driver. Another ₱14,000 reportedly went to the gunman who carried out the shooting. The remaining ₱2,000 was allegedly used to purchase the firearm that was brought to the crime scene.

The suspects were eventually identified and arrested with the help of CCTV footage. Police initially apprehended the motorcycle driver, whose arrest became a major breakthrough in the investigation.

Following his capture, the motorcycle driver allegedly identified and pointed authorities toward the female suspect, who was described as the alleged mastermind behind the planned attack. Police later managed to locate and arrest the alleged gunman as well.

All three suspects are now under police custody and are facing murder charges in connection with the incident.

What initially appeared to be an attack inside a fast-food establishment eventually led investigators to an alleged chain of individuals connected to the crime, including the suspected mastermind, the alleged gunman, and the motorcycle driver.

Authorities continue to process the case as the suspects face legal proceedings over their alleged involvement. The investigation is expected to determine the full circumstances behind the attack, including the motive and the roles allegedly played by each suspect.
