Woman House-to-House Thief Caught on CCTV, Authorities on the Hunt
A woman believed to be behind a series of house-to-house thefts in Pasig, Manila, and Taytay, Rizal was caught on CCTV and is now being hunted by the authorities.
The female thief was captured on several CCTV cameras, which helped victims and officials piece together how the crimes were carried out.
Based on video, the suspect follows a simple but effective method. She approaches the house and rings the doorbell or knocks on the door. While waiting, she pretends to be talking on her cellphone to avoid raising suspicion.
Once she confirms that no one is home or no one responds, she suddenly enters the house and takes valuable items inside. Several homes have already fallen victim to this scheme.
On January 1, 2026, a house in Sta. Cruz, Manila was broken into, and cash worth seventy thousand pesos along with a cellphone was stolen. On January 9, the suspect took a bag from another home after no one answered the doorbell.
In Barangay Maybunga, Pasig, on January 20, more than ten thousand pesos in cash and two cellphones were taken. The following day, the suspect also struck a house in Taytay, Rizal and escaped with cash and a cellphone.
One of the victims expressed frustration, especially since the stolen money was meant for building a family home.
Barangay security officers described the suspect as someone unfamiliar to the area, which led them to believe she was not a local resident. Information later reached authorities that the woman may be from Tondo, Manila, but police found that she no longer lived at the reported address.
“Daming nabibiktima eh, nagbabahay-bahay. Sumuko na kayo sa awtoridad kasi hindi kami titigil para kayo’y mahuli,” Barangay Security Force member Ely Zamudio said.

Police continue their follow-up operations and remind the public to always lock doors and gates, even when someone is inside the house. The suspect may face multiple charges, including theft and trespassing, once arrested.
