10 Men Caught on CCTV Stealing Telco Cables in Caloocan

A group of around 10 men was caught on CCTV while stealing telecommunication cables in Caloocan City.

Early Tuesday morning, May 26, 2026, the incident happened along A. Mabini Street in Barangay 15. The recent robbery has raised concern after becoming the fourth reported case of cable theft in the area since March.

Based on the CCTV footage, the suspects were seen opening a manhole cover before pulling out bundles of telecom cables. The men worked together as they dragged the wires into a nearby alley and quickly left the area after taking the items.

According to the Caloocan Police, three of the ten suspects have already been identified through follow-up investigations. Authorities said they immediately launched an operation after receiving the report, but the suspects had already fled when they arrived at the scene.

Police Lieutenant Jomar De Belen, commander of Sub-Station 3, said they also checked the suspects’ possible residences, but they were no longer there. He added that coordination with local officials continues as they try to track down the remaining suspects.

Barangay officials confirmed that the individuals seen in the CCTV footage are not residents of the area. It has made the investigation more difficult as authorities believe the group may be operating from outside the community.

The police are now preparing to file appropriate charges against those involved. However, they are waiting for the official complaint and coordination from the affected telecommunication company before proceeding with legal action.

Authorities also noted that similar cases have been recorded in recent weeks, with some suspects already arrested and currently detained. This shows that cable theft has become a recurring issue in the area, prompting stronger monitoring and enforcement.

Police continue to conduct manhunt operations to locate the remaining suspects and identify possible accomplices. They also reminded the public and local communities to report any suspicious activity immediately to help prevent further incidents and protect important communication infrastructure.
