Student Punched After Allegedly Reporting Classmate’s Use of AI
Two students were brought to a police station after a physical altercation near Palawan National School (PNS).
On Friday, August 28, 2026, two 15-year-old students were nabbed after fighting over use of AI in Puerto Princesa City. The fight quickly circulated online and garnered various reactions from the online community.
The incident caused concern among residents and students in the area after one student allegedly punched another following a disagreement that reportedly started inside the school. Authorities quickly responded to prevent the situation from becoming more serious.
According to reports, members of the City Anti-Crime Task Force who were on duty immediately went to the scene after learning about the commotion. They intervened and separated the two minors to stop the conflict from escalating further.
The students involved were identified only by their first names, Cedric and John, both 15 years old. Cedric is a resident of Barangay Bancao-Bancao, while John lives in Barangay Mabini.
Based on the initial report, John claimed that he was suddenly punched by Cedric shortly after leaving the school premises. The unexpected attack reportedly happened outside the school, drawing attention from people nearby.
However, Cedric said he became upset because John had allegedly reported him to one of their teachers for using Artificial Intelligence, or AI, in school-related work. The report allegedly led to tension between the two students, which eventually resulted in the confrontation.
Following the incident, authorities brought both minors to Police Station 1 in Puerto Princesa City. The students were accompanied for proper documentation, mediation, and further discussion.
