3 Minors Arrested Over Piso WiFi Machine Theft in Kalibo
Three of four minors suspected of stealing a Piso WiFi machine in Kalibo, Aklan, have been arrested by police in connection with the incident.
The Kalibo Municipal Police Station apprehended the three minors following an investigation into the theft of a WiFi vending machine in Barangay Aliputos, Numancia, and a motorcycle taken from a garage in Barangay Bakhaw Sur, Kalibo.
Two of the arrested minors are 14 years old, while the third is a child in conflict with the law (CICL). They are residents of Barangay Pook and C. Laserna Street.

Police arrested them along C. Laserna Street in Poblacion, Kalibo, as authorities worked to identify those involved in the reported thefts.
The incident happened at around 2:31 a.m. on October 17, when four unidentified individuals allegedly forced open the metal cage protecting the Piso WiFi machine in Barangay Aliputos, Numancia. They then took the machine, which contained an estimated P3,000 to P4,000 in coins.
Closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage reportedly captured the suspects breaking open the machine’s protective cage before taking it away. The recording helped provide information about how the theft was carried out.
Authorities also recovered the motorcycle that the suspects allegedly stole from a garage in Barangay Bakhaw Sur. The vehicle was reportedly used during the commission of the theft.
Following their arrest, the three minors were turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for appropriate intervention and further action in accordance with the law.
Meanwhile, authorities continue to account for the fourth minor allegedly involved in the incident.
Authorities are expected to continue their investigation to establish the full circumstances of the incident and determine the appropriate next steps.
