Authorities Arrest 2 Men for Stealing Over P18,000 in Coins from Sari-Sari Store
Two men were arrested after allegedly stealing more than P18,000 worth of coins from a small sari-sari store in Barangay Novaliches Proper, Quezon City.
On April 7, 2026, the suspects, aged 41 and 39, broke into the sari-sari store by damaging its ceiling. The incident happened along Susano Road at around 3:00 in the early morning.
According to police reports, the suspects quietly entered the shop and took a large amount of coins, totaling P18,360. The act was done in the early hours of the day when most people in the area were still asleep.

However, their plan did not go unnoticed. The owner of the store caught them in the act and immediately asked for help from nearby residents. Authorities were quickly informed, which led to a fast response from the police.
Within 30 minutes, the suspects were located and arrested during a follow-up operation. Police were able to recover the stolen coins along with the tools used by the suspects to break into the store.
The quick action of both the store owner and the authorities helped prevent the suspects from escaping.
