Tenants Seek Refund from Landlady Who Failed to Return Deposits
Several former tenants in Barangay San Manuel, Puerto Princesa City are seeking refund from their landlady who allegedly withheld deposits.
Some tenants in Puerto Princesa City are asking for help after their landlady allegedly failed to return their advance and deposit payments. The woman, identified by tenants as Mrs. Rosa, has not been located despite repeated attempts to reach her.
Two of the complainants, known as Aizy and Chloe, shared that they had already moved out of the apartment they rented. They explained that they decided to leave not only because they needed to transfer to a new place, but also due to their unpleasant experience with their landlady.
The complainants described her as often rude and difficult to deal with, which added to their reasons for leaving. After moving out, both tenants tried several times to ask for the return of their one-month advance and one-month deposit.
They felt that the money should be given back since they were no longer staying in the unit and had not used the remaining period covered by their payments. However, despite their efforts, they have not received any response or refund.
According to the complainants, they are not the only ones facing this issue. They believe that other former tenants may have experienced the same situation. Reports also suggest that the landlady has already been the subject of multiple complaints filed at the barangay due to similar concerns involving withheld deposits and disputes with renters.

A local news team visited the residence of the landlady. However, the gate was locked, and she did not respond to calls or attempts to communicate.
As of this writing, the affected tenants are simply hoping to recover their money and hold the landlady accountable.
