Bongbong Marcos’ Mother’s Day Post Sparks Buzz Over Imee’s Absence

BONGBONG MARCOS – President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. drew online attention after netizens noticed that Sen. Imee Marcos was absent from his Mother’s Day family greeting.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. extended his Mother’s Day greetings through a heartfelt message shared on his social media page, honoring three women who hold special places in his life.

In his post, the President paid tribute to mothers for their love, sacrifices, and vital role in every Filipino family. Featured in the photos he shared were his mother, former First Lady Imelda Marcos, his wife, First Lady Liza Marcos, and his sister Irene Marcos.

However, several netizens quickly noticed that another member of the Marcos family was missing from the greeting—his elder sister, Senator Imee Marcos.

In his message, the President said:

The post immediately sparked mixed reactions online, particularly after social media users pointed out the absence of Sen. Imee Marcos in what appeared to be a family-centered Mother’s Day tribute from the President.

The public’s observations came amid the reported strained relationship between the Marcos siblings. Recently, both President Marcos and Sen. Imee separately admitted that they no longer see or speak to each other following the senator’s decision to side with the Duterte family after the reported “pagkakawatak-watak” of the UniTeam alliance.

The tension between the two became even more controversial after the peace rally organized by the Iglesia Ni Cristo in November 2025, where Sen. Imee publicly alleged that her younger brother was using illegal drugs. The accusation was strongly denied and condemned by Malacañang.

Despite the controversy surrounding the family, the President’s Mother’s Day message continued to draw attention online, with many netizens sharing differing opinions about the noticeable omission.
