Woman Caught After Cellphone Hidden in Her Private Part Rings While She Was Trying to Bring It Into Prison
A woman was reportedly caught trying to bring a cellphone into a prison after the hidden phone rang during a security inspection.
The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Director General Gregorio Catapang Jr. said that the incident happened during a briefing of the House Committee on Appropriations on Monday. The story came up while lawmakers were discussing the condition of inmates and security measures inside correctional facilities, including the New Bilibid Prison (NBP).
According to Catapang, prison authorities have made significant progress in reducing the entry of illegal drugs and other prohibited items into prison facilities. He explained that stricter inspections and tighter security procedures have helped prevent many smuggling attempts.
As an example, Catapang recalled a case involving a prison visitor who allegedly tried to conceal prohibited items while entering the facility. During the visit, the hidden cellphone suddenly rang, drawing the attention of prison personnel.
The unexpected ringtone reportedly led security officers to conduct a closer inspection. Authorities later discovered a cellphone, an adapter, and suspected illegal drugs that had allegedly been concealed by the visitor.
The incident surprised several people during the congressional briefing, including lawmakers who sought further details about the incident. Catapang confirmed that the case had indeed happened and was one of the unusual situations encountered by prison authorities while enforcing security measures.
