Man Arrested After Allegedly Causing Chaos While Preaching Bible Verses

A man identified as alias Paeng was arrested in Dinalupihan, Bataan, after allegedly causing a disturbance outside his own bakery while repeatedly quoting Bible verses. The incident happened early Monday morning, August 24, after residents reportedly sought help because of his behavior.

According to a Frontline Pilipinas report aired on Tuesday, August 25, Paeng was allegedly shouting and acting erratically in front of the bakery. Residents became alarmed after reportedly seeing him carrying a firearm, prompting them to contact police and barangay officials.

When authorities responded, Paeng continued reciting Bible verses, including passages from Luke 6 about loving one’s enemies and avoiding judgment and punishment. Despite his repeated references to the Bible, the report said Paeng was not a priest or pastor.

Police arrested Paeng and reportedly recovered a sling bag containing a firearm with ammunition and three packets of suspected shabu. Authorities also searched his vehicle and allegedly found several bullets scattered inside.

Police said Paeng was difficult to communicate with during the arrest. He reportedly admitted using illegal drugs and allegedly told authorities where he obtained them. He also admitted owning the recovered firearm and claimed that he had a license for it. Police are still verifying the claim.

The incident gained attention because Paeng was allegedly causing a disturbance while repeatedly quoting Bible passages. His statements reportedly focused on kindness, forgiveness, and avoiding judgment of others.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the recovered firearm, ammunition, and suspected illegal drugs. The circumstances surrounding the incident are also being reviewed as part of the investigation.

Paeng may face complaints for alarm and scandal and alleged violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act based on the disturbance and the items reportedly recovered from his possession. The case remains under investigation, and the allegations against Paeng have yet to be resolved in court.
