On Monday evening (September 7, 2026), a disagreement between a father and a member of the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team (BPAT) turned into a heated argument after a 16-year-old boy was sent home for allegedly violating curfew along C. Laserna Street in Barangay Poblacion
Authorities said the village watchman had reportedly seen the minor in the area on several occasions. There were also allegations linking the teenager to a series of theft incidents being investigated in the community.
The BPAT member decided to send the boy home as part of maintaining peace and order in the area.
However, the situation became tense when the boy’s father arrived at the location. A verbal confrontation followed as both sides expressed their views regarding how the matter should have been handled.
The father reportedly argued that concerns involving his son should have first been brought to the barangay for proper discussion and action. On the other hand, the BPAT member later sought assistance from the police after allegedly receiving threats from the minor’s father during the confrontation.
