3 Workers Found Dead Inside Warehouse in Palo, Leyte
Authorities are investigating the deaths of three workers who were found inside a warehouse at Zone 6, Barangay Campetic in Palo, Leyte.
On Wednesday morning (September 16, 2026), the victims, identified as two men and one woman, were discovered in a work area.
According to the Palo Municipal Police Station, one of the possible causes being examined is exposure to fumes from a generator set that was operating inside a small structure within the warehouse.
Investigators believe the victims may have suffered from carbon monoxide poisoning or may have been unable to breathe properly because of the smoke and gases produced by the machine.
Police said the area where the workers were staying had very poor ventilation. The lack of proper airflow may have caused dangerous fumes to build up inside the enclosed space, especially while the generator was running for several hours.
Residents in the area reported that a power outage occurred on the night before the victims were found. During the blackout, the generator was reportedly used to provide electricity. It was only the following morning that the three workers were discovered lifeless inside the warehouse.
Authorities who responded to the scene did not find any signs of forced entry or evidence suggesting that another person had entered the area illegally. Because of this, investigators are focusing on the possibility that the deaths were related to the operation of the generator in a confined space.
The victims were simply carrying out their work when the tragedy happened. Family members have already been informed about the deaths and are now waiting for answers regarding what exactly took place that night.
