Man on His Way to Cemetery to Light Candle at His Mother’s Grave on All Souls’ Day Stabbed
A 30-year-old man died after being stabbed in the chest while walking toward a cemetery along Dr. A. Santos Avenue in Barangay San Isidro.
On Sunday evening, November 1, 2026, the victim was on his way to the cemetery after their mother asked him to light a candle for their late father. However, before reaching his destination, he was reportedly attacked by an unidentified person.
The incident happened at around 6:30 p.m., leaving the victim’s family shocked and grieving over his sudden death.

His relatives shared that someone allegedly approached and put an arm around him before suddenly stabbing him once in the chest. The attacker then left the scene, leaving the victim seriously wounded.
The victim was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Despite efforts to save his life, he eventually succumbed to his injuries.
Initial information gathered by the barangay suggested that jealousy may have been connected to the attack. According to Barangay San Isidro desk officer Romula Badiang, one possible angle being looked into was that the suspect could have been a former romantic partner of the woman the victim was courting.

However, authorities have yet to confirm this information, and the exact motive behind the stabbing remains unclear.
The victim’s brother-in-law also said that the family was unaware of any personal dispute or misunderstanding involving the victim that could have led to the deadly incident.
Meanwhile, police investigators are continuing their efforts to identify and locate the suspect. They are conducting follow-up operations and reviewing available CCTV footage to trace the suspect’s movements before and after the attack.
Authorities are expected to gather more information as the investigation continues. The victim’s family is now left mourning his death, which happened while he was simply carrying out his mother’s request to remember their departed father.
