Sen. Bato dela Rosa made a public appearance?
Speculation has intensified surrounding the whereabouts of fugitive Senator Ronald Bato dela Rosa after unverified social media posts emerged showing him posing with a family at the Digos Memorial Park in Davao del Sur.
Dela Rosa has been in hiding since evading authorities during a dramatic Senate lockdown in May 2026.
It is because he is the subject of an International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant for alleged crimes against humanity tied to the Rodrigo Duterte administration’s anti-drug campaign.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) previously designated Bato dela Rosa as “armed and dangerous,” raising the stakes by offering a massive ₱50-million bounty for any information that leads to his capture.
Dela Rosa was also encouraged to surrender voluntarily to avoid casualties. Previously, DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla stated that 10,000 might die if the senator were taken, as reportedly, he was protected by a powerful group.
The reported sighting comes directly after the expiration of a one-week government ultimatum for his voluntary surrender, which lapsed on Thursday, October 29, 2026.
“Ronald Bato Dela Rosa ka gwapo! is in Digos Memorial Park,” the netizen who uploaded this photo wrote in the caption of his Facebook post. However, the netizen clarified that it was taken 3 years ago. He wrote the clarification in the comment section of his shared post from news outlet Daily Tribune.
This post has circulated on social media, and some netizens believed that it was a recent photo before the uploader made the clarification.

Meanwhile, last month, the Senator’s wife, Nancy dela Rosa, stressed in a social media post that her husband is not the enemy of the people and the state. In her post, she also thanked those people who have shown support for her husband.
