CCTV Captures Customer Taking Technician’s Cellphone at Mall Repair Shop in Kalibo
A customer was caught on camera taking a technician’s cellphone from a repair shop inside a mall in Kalibo, Aklan.
On Monday afternoon, November 2, 2026, a cellphone technician lost his personal phone after a customer who came to have his device repaired allegedly took it from a repair shop. The incident happened at a gadget repair shop along Roxas Avenue Extension in Barangay Andagao.
CCTV footage reportedly captured the customer’s actions, which later became the subject of a police report.

According to information from the Kalibo Municipal Police Station, the unidentified man arrived at the shop at around 2 p.m. to have his Samsung Galaxy A17 repaired.
While the 18-year-old technician was attending to the customer’s phone, the man allegedly took the opportunity to get the technician’s Infinix 20, which had been placed on the table.
After a few moments, the customer reportedly told the technician not to continue repairing his Samsung phone. He then took his device and quickly left the establishment.
The technician only realized that his personal cellphone was missing after the customer had already left. CCTV footage reportedly showed the moment the man took the device before leaving the shop.
Based on the available information, the suspect was described as a Tagalog-speaking man. Although the CCTV cameras did not capture where he went after leaving the mall, the latest report indicated that he was allegedly heading back to Manila with the missing cellphone.
The victim decided to report the incident to the Kalibo Police for proper documentation and further investigation.
He is also seeking the public’s help in identifying the man involved. Anyone who may recognize the individual or have information about his whereabouts is encouraged to inform the authorities.
