Odette Khan and Daughter Claudette Thank Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes for Helping During Her Hospitalization
Veteran actress Odette Khan and her daughter Claudette have publicly thanked celebrity couple Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes for the help they extended when the actress was hospitalized earlier this year, Philstar.com reported.
Mother and daughter opened up during a guest appearance on “Kay Susan Tayo! Vlogs.” Claudette recalled that when Odette was rushed to the emergency room in February, she asked for financial help, and Marian was among the first to respond. “I asked for help. One of the first few people na nagpadala ng financial gift or help was Marian Rivera,” she said.
According to GMA News, Claudette whispered the news to her mother while they were still in the hospital. Odette kept drifting in and out of sleep because of her medication, but when she heard Marian’s name, she opened her eyes, paused and shed a tear. “Please tell Marian, thank you galing sa akin,” the actress reportedly told her daughter.
During the interview, Odette finally got the chance to say it herself. “Marian, for whatever it is. Thank you so much. You were there. The help was there. I felt so good. Thank God. You did something beautiful in my heart. Thank you,” she said, visibly emotional.
Claudette also thanked Dingdong, who, as president of Aktor PH, sought assistance for her mother from the Film Academy of the Philippines, which is now processing its help. “Napakabait na couple,” she said of the two stars. The support they received helped the family secure a guarantee letter and buy a hospital bed and digital oxygen equipment, Bandera noted.
Odette was confined at the National Kidney and Transplant Institute in February due to pneumonia, emphysema and edema. As an only child, Claudette admitted that the heaviest burden now is the daily cost of her mother’s care, including medicine, diapers and caregivers.
Known for her memorable villain roles, Odette is also remembered for playing Justice Hernandez in “Bar Boys” and its sequel, “Bar Boys: After School.”
For Odette and Claudette, the kindness of colleagues, big or small, has made a difficult year a little lighter.
