Drag Race Philippines Runner-Up Khianna Gets Engaged to Shae Shue K After Surprise Onstage Proposal
Drag performers Khianna and Shae Shue K are now engaged after a surprise proposal during a live show, according to GMA News Online. Shae Shue K shared the news on Instagram with photos from the moment.
The proposal took place on November 5 during Brigiding’s “CAKE” show at Teatrino Promenade in Greenhills, San Juan City, based on a report by When In Manila. Khianna reportedly went down on one knee during a performance of the song “Stop the Wedding!” and asked, “Shae-Shae, will you marry me?”
Shae Shue K wrote that she first thought the moment was only part of the act. “Akala ko sa movie o teleserye lang to nangyayare sa totoong buhay din pala. Akala ko part lang ng performance, totohanan na pala,” she said in her post.
She also marked seven years as a couple and said she looks forward to spending a lifetime with Khianna. “Mamahalin kita araw-araw and excited ako makasama ka habang-buhay,” she wrote.
Khianna was the first runner-up on the third season of “Drag Race Philippines,” which was won by Maxie. She later joined “Drag Race Philippines: Slaysian Royale,” and she and Shae Shue K are both known in the drag scene of Cagayan de Oro, per When In Manila.
The engagement drew congratulations from fans and fellow performers. Zymba Ding, Khianna’s “Drag Race Philippines” Season 3 sister, who witnessed the proposal, wrote in an Instagram Story that she was happy to see them go “from lovers to fiancées.”
For a couple that has built both a relationship and a career on stage, the proposal fit the setting: a public moment in front of friends, family and fellow performers who have followed their journey for years.
