Gas Stations to Impose Another Big-Time Oil Price Hike on Tuesday (September 22, 2026)
Several gasoline stations in the country are expected to implement another big-time oil price hike starting next week.
Filipino motorists across the country may soon face another heavy increase in fuel prices as industry estimates point to a fresh round of pump price hikes next week.
Based on full-week trading in the international oil market, diesel prices are expected to increase by around P8.50 to P9.50 per liter. Gasoline may go up by P4.50 to P5.50 per liter, while kerosene could rise by P6.00 to P7.00 per liter.
Oil companies are expected to announce their official adjustments on Monday, with the changes taking effect the following day. Recent reports have also indicated expectations of another huge increase in fuel prices next week.
It would be the third major fuel price increase within a month, adding more pressure on commuters, drivers, businesses, and households already dealing with rising transportation and operating costs.
According to the Department of Energy (DOE), the sharp increase is largely being driven by developments in the global oil market. Supply concerns remain high following damage to Saudi Arabia’s East-West Pipeline caused by drone attacks.
Although oil prices eased slightly toward the end of the week, global supply concerns continue to support higher fuel prices. Reports indicate that Saudi Arabia is working to restore part of its export capacity and increase shipments to Asian buyers.
These developments helped lower earlier forecasts that suggested diesel prices could surge by more than P10 per liter.
The DOE said it plans to ask oil companies to consider a staggered implementation of the increase due to its size. The agency also noted that fuel prices may remain elevated even after the damaged pipeline is restored, as global supply conditions remain uncertain.
Last week alone, fuel companies raised gasoline prices by P5.68 per liter, diesel by P4.31 per liter, and kerosene by P4.62 per liter. With another major increase expected, many consumers are once again bracing for higher expenses in the days ahead.
