Archie Alemania remains guilty in the Rita Daniela case.
A Bacoor court reaffirmed that actor Archie Alemania is guilty of acts of lasciviousness in the Rita Daniela case.
In a previous article, Archie Alemania opened up about how the legal case involving Rita Daniela affected his showbiz career. In an interview with Ogie Diaz, the actor admitted that his work opportunities stopped after the controversy became public.
His career collapsed from having regular tapings to having no projects or acting jobs at all.
As of the latest update, a Bacoor court upheld the conviction of the actor. The ruling comes after the actor challenged the earlier decision through an appeal. With the latest court decision, the previous guilty ruling against him remains effective.
The court ruling does not necessarily mark the end of the legal process, as Alemania and his legal team may consider the next steps available to them.
To recall, Alemania was found guilty in October 2025 in the case filed by Daniela. Despite the ruling, he has continued to maintain his innocence and has denied committing the act he was accused of.
The Bacoor MTCC Branch 2 sentenced him to up to one year of jail time and fees of ₱20,000 in civil indemnity and ₱20,000 in moral damages. Archie pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned in April 2025.
In his appeal, Archie questioned how the alleged incident could have happened inside the vehicle. He argued that the space inside the vehicle made Rita’s account unlikely.
However, the court did not agree with his argument, stating, “The acts described, restraining, kissing, and groping inside a vehicle are not inherently impossible. They may be uncomfortable or difficult, but not contrary to human experience.”
“[T]his court is convinced and satisfied that the evidence tendered by the prosecution for the purpose of establishing the guilt of the accused beyond reasonable doubt warrants the conviction of the accused,” the decision furthered.
