Rider Loses Motorcycle to Armed Men in Marikina

During the early hours of Monday, May 18, 2026, a motorcycle rider became the victim of an armed robbery after four men forcibly took his motorcycle.
The incident was captured on CCTV and showed how quickly the suspects carried out the crime. The four men were riding two motorcycles when they approached the victim. The suspects surrounded the rider before suddenly stopping in the middle of the road.

After a few moments, one of the suspects pulled out a gun and pointed it directly at the victim. Fearing for his safety, the rider immediately knelt on the ground and surrendered his motorcycle without resisting. The suspects quickly fled the area, leaving the victim alone on the roadside.
A man who witnessed the incident said he was nearby at the time and initially thought the group was simply arguing. Since the area was dark, he believed the riders knew each other. However, the situation suddenly became serious when one of the suspects drew a firearm and aimed it at the victim.
The witness also shared that even after the motorcycle was taken, one of the suspects continued pointing the gun at the victim while the rider slowly walked away without fighting back.
After the robbery, the victim reportedly went straight to the barangay to ask for help. Barangay officials quickly coordinated with the police and reviewed CCTV footage in the area. Investigators later discovered that the suspects had already been following the victim before carrying out the robbery.
Authorities from the Marikina Police are now continuing their investigation and searching for the suspects involved in the crime. Barangay officials have also increased security in the area to help prevent similar incidents from happening again.
As of now, the victim has not yet released any public statement regarding the incident.
