Gas Companies to Impose Big-Time Oil Price Rollback This Week

FUEL PRICE UPDATE – Various gasoline stations in the country are set to implement a big-time oil price rollback starting Tuesday (April 14, 2026).

After weeks of rising fuel prices, Filipinos are set to experience a much-needed break as oil companies prepare to roll back pump prices this week. The adjustment is expected to ease the burden on drivers, commuters, and families who have been struggling with higher transportation and daily costs.

Diesel prices are set to drop by around P20 per liter, marking one of the biggest reductions in recent months. Gasoline will also see a decrease of more than P4 per liter, while kerosene prices are expected to go down by P8.50 per liter.

The projected oil price changes will take effect during the April 14 to 20, 2026 trading week.

According to the Department of Energy, the rollback is based on recent movements in the global oil market. Prices abroad have gone down in the past few days, leading to lower costs for local fuel.

Even with the large price cut, the government admits that the relief may not be enough. Many households are still feeling the effects of earlier increases, which affected not only transportation but also food and other daily expenses. Because of this, officials are working on more ways to support the public.

Among the possible steps being studied are adjustments to fuel taxes and long-term plans to reduce the country’s reliance on oil. There is also a push to invest more in renewable energy and improve fuel reserves.

The recent spike in fuel prices was linked to tensions in the Middle East, which disrupted global oil supply. While the situation has slightly improved, authorities warn that prices may rise again if conflicts continue.

As of this writing, the rollback offers a moment of relief as the government continues to look for lasting solutions.
