Cyclist Suffers Injuries After Being Run Over by LTO Vehicle
A cyclist was injured after being hit and dragged underneath a vehicle belonging to the Land Transportation Office (LTO).
The incident was captured on CCTV footage, which showed traffic moving normally along Ariano Avenue in Mandaue City, Cebu, before the accident happened.
In the video, two LTO vehicles were seen leaving a corner one after the other. As the vehicles entered the roadway, a cyclist traveling nearby tried to avoid the second LTO vehicle. Another cyclist who was following behind continued moving forward and accidentally collided with the first cyclist.

The impact caused the first cyclist to lose balance and fall onto the road. Unfortunately, the cyclist fell directly into the path of the LTO vehicle and was run over. The victim was also dragged underneath the vehicle before the driver was able to stop.
The accident immediately drew attention from people in the area. Emergency assistance was later provided to the injured cyclist, who was taken to a hospital for treatment.
According to LTO Region 7, the vehicle involved had just returned from an operation when the accident occurred. Officials explained that the driver did not notice the cyclist who had fallen onto the road before the vehicle passed over him.
Following the incident, the driver of the LTO vehicle and the cyclist who collided with the victim met at a police station to discuss the matter and work toward an agreement regarding the accident.
Meanwhile, the injured cyclist remains in the hospital recovering from the injuries he suffered during the incident. Authorities have not yet released additional details regarding the extent of his injuries.
