Duterte Siblings Gather in Davao City for Mom’s Birthday
DUTERTE SIBLINGS – Davao Congressman Paolo Duterte, Vice President Sara Duterte, and Davao Mayor Baste Duterte joined their mother Elizabeth Zimmerman’s birthday celebration.
Amid the detention of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte under the custody of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Netherlands. the children of the former Chief Executive are taking turns in visiting their father who is detained abroad for over a year now. There was only one time when they were allowed to visit him altogether.
Former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte had requested to the foreign court then to allow his children to visit him altogether. He marked his first year in detention in March.
Davao Mayor Baste Duterte previously stressed that their family and even former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte are prepared for any eventuality of the ICC case. He stressed that they are not there in The Hague just to weep over the situation of their patriarch.
The Duterte siblings slammed the Marcos Jr. administration for allowing the arrest and the transfer of the custody of the former President to the ICC. While Davao Mayor Baste Duterte said they will fight back, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte believes that Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. allegedly committed an impeachable offense over her father’s arrest.
Aside from the Duterte siblings, the other family members of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte including his grandchildren and even his ex-wife, Elizabeth Zimmerman, have gone to The Hague to visit. There was even a time when his ex-wife was the one who took visits on him for a few weeks.
Today, Elizabeth Zimmerman celebrates her birthday. The Duterte siblings joined the birthday celebration of their mother in Davao City. The birthday cake was sponsored by Davao Cong. Paolo Duterte and his family. She turned 78.
Amid the issues and accusations against her as well as the impeachment complaints filed against her, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte previously announced that she will run for president in 2028. She also claimed that she has already talk to someone to be her running mate.
While the Vice President did not drop a name, there are speculations that Duterte siblings VP Inday Sara and Mayor Baste may allegedly be running mates in the next election. Previously, Kitty Duterte spoke on the side of the Duterte family with regards VP Sara’s decision to run for president in 2028.
