A recent survey revealed the recent standings of Sara Duterte and Leni Robredo
Vice President Sara Duterte still leads as the top pick for the 2028 presidency, but her lead over former Vice President and current Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo tightened during the first quarter of the year.
Duterte and Robredo are among the strongest presidential candidates for the 2028 elections. Last February, the incumbent Vice President had already declared her intentions to run for president two years from now.
In Robredo’s case, there had been several instances when she asked about her political plans in 2028. She previously said that she had no intention to run for president, and that she just wanted to remain in Naga City.

However, Robredo’s supporters kept on encouraging her and hoping that she would eventually decide to run.
In a report from One News PH, it was stated that, based on OCTA Research founder Ranjit Rye, while Sara Duterte still leads the 2028 presidential race, her lead over Mayor Leni Robredo tightened during the first quarter of the year.
In an interview on One News’ “Storycon” last Wednesday, April 15, Rye noted that the full results of their latest preference survey are set for release next week.

However, Rye did not reveal the specific numbers. “It’s not anymore a universe away… The number two person is just between nine to 12 points away. The gap narrowed in just one quarter,” the OCTA founder said.
Even though Robredo has not yet declared any plans for the 2028 elections, she still surpassed the numbers that Senator Raffy Tulfo had.
“The long view is that her numbers have improved. She was always number three… now, she’s the candidate after the Vice President,” Rye stated, noting that Tulfo has already expressed in a past statement that he will not be running for president.
