Father in Pangasinan Passes Away Months After Quitting Alcohol
A father in Mangaldan, Pangasinan, identified as Dominador Alcantara, became ill after he stopped drinking alcohol.
Alcantara, a resident of Barangay Tebag, passed away after experiencing ongoing health problems that began after he stopped drinking alcohol.
Local official Russel Simorio visited the wake to personally offer sympathy to the family. During the visit, the children of Dominador shared what happened in the months leading up to his passing.
According to them, their father had long been used to drinking gin almost every day. Over time, it became a regular part of his life. However, everything changed when his wife passed away in June 2025.
Her death greatly affected him, and he decided to honor her wish for him to stop drinking.
After he gave up alcohol, his family began to notice changes in his condition. He started to feel weak and often complained of stomach pain. His strength slowly faded, and his health continued to decline as the days passed.
Despite his worsening condition, Dominador refused to go to the hospital. His children tried to convince him to seek medical help, but he chose to stay at home. They did what they could to care for him, but his body eventually gave in.

Ayon sa anak, ang madalas na pagsakit ng tiyan ang sanhi ng pagkamatay ng kanilang ama.
Nagsimula ang lahat nang tumigil ito sa pag-inom ng alak.
Dati, tuloy-tuloy ang pag-inom ng gin ni Sir Alcantara. Walang tigil, ginawa na raw niyang tubig ang pag-inom ng alak.
