Trillanes Drops Bombshell Allegation Against Duterte Family Over Massive Cash Links
TRILLANES – A political firestorm is brewing after former senator Antonio Sonny Trillanes IV made explosive allegations involving the Duterte family.
Former senator Antonio Sonny Trillanes IV made explosive claims during a recent House Committee on Justice hearing, alleging that members of the Duterte family received millions of pesos from an alleged drug lord.
The statement was presented as part of the ongoing impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. In his affidavit, Trillanes disclosed a total amount of “₱181,653,487.55” that was supposedly received by the Vice President, her father, former president Rodrigo Duterte, and other members of their family.
“Batay sa mga nabanggit na records, nalikom ko ang mga sumusunod na mahahalagang impormasyon, na nagpapakita na si Sara Duterte, at ang mga miyembro ng kanyang pamilya, kabilang na ang kanyang ama na si Rodrigo Duterte,” Trillanes began.
He further alleged, “[A]ng common-law wife ni Rodrigo Duterte na si Honeylet Avanceña, kasama pa ang kanilang anak na si Kitty Duterte, ang mga kapatid niya na sina Pulong Duterte at Baste Duterte, ay tumanggap ng pera o nag-encash ng daan-daang milyong halaga ng mga cashier’s checks at/o mga personal checks mula sa isang kilalang Drug Lord na si Samuel Uy (na kilala rin bilang si ‘Sammy Uy’).”
According to Trillanes, Vice President Duterte allegedly received three separate payments of ₱7,440,846.07 on March 17, October 25, 2011, and April 24, 2012, totaling ₱22,322,538.21. Meanwhile, former president Duterte reportedly received ₱775,000.00 on November 14, ₱7,440,846.07 on October 22, 2012, and another ₱7,440,846.07 on April 4, 2013, amounting to ₱15,656,692.14.
Davao City Mayor Sebastian Baste Duterte was also named, allegedly receiving five separate transactions totaling ₱51,582,958.80 between 2011 and 2013. Similarly, Davao City First District Representative Paolo Pulong Duterte reportedly received four payments amounting to ₱38,814,437.65 within the same period.
Trillanes also pointed to financial records allegedly involving Honeylet Avanceña and Veronica “Kitty” Duterte, claiming that their accounts received a combined ₱53,276,860.55 across five transactions from March 2011 to April 2013.
All of these transactions, Trillanes emphasized, were allegedly linked to a drug lord identified as Samuel “Sammy” Uy.
As of this writing, no official statement, response, or reaction has been issued by the Duterte family regarding these allegations. The claims are expected to further intensify political tensions as the impeachment proceedings continue.
