Grade 8 Student Suffers Injury After Allegedly Being Struck on Nose w/ Arnis Stick by Teacher
A Grade 8 student was injured after he was allegedly struck on the nose with an arnis stick by his teacher at San Mateo National High School in Rizal.
The student’s family reported the matter to local authorities and school officials. According to the victim’s father, the incident happened when his son asked permission to leave the school in the evening.
The student reportedly needed to attend a prayer meeting where he was scheduled to play music. However, the situation allegedly became tense when the teacher did not allow him to leave.
The father said his son insisted on attending the activity, which allegedly angered the teacher. According to the family, the teacher then struck the student with an arnis stick, causing an injury to his nose. The incident left the family concerned about the student’s welfare.
The father later learned that the incident may not have been an isolated case. The student reportedly admitted that he had been hit several times before by the same teacher using an arnis stick. He claimed that some of the blows had also landed on his head.
Despite the alleged incidents, the student chose not to tell his parents right away. He explained that he did not want to add more worries and problems to the family, so he decided to remain silent.
The family immediately reported the matter to the barangay. Discussions were also held involving the teacher, the school principal, and the student’s family to address the issue.
The student was reportedly transferred to a different section. The teacher also apologized to both the student and his family in the presence of school officials.
