Police in Camalig, Albay quickly responded after receiving a report about a male minor who was allegedly carrying a bladed weapon inside a school on the morning of September 21, 2026.
According to information released by the Camalig Municipal Police Station, the incident happened at Bariw National High School in Barangay Bariw. The report caused concern among students, teachers, and school personnel, prompting authorities to take immediate action.
At around 10:00 a.m., school officials contacted the police to report that a male student was allegedly carrying a sharp object inside the school premises. Upon receiving the call, the Camalig Municipal Police Station immediately deployed personnel to the area.
The responding team included members of the Women and Children Protection Desk, duty investigators, intelligence operatives, and patrol officers under the leadership of PMAJ Jonathan L. Apil, Acting Chief of Police.

During the operation, police clarified that the student had not gone missing, contrary to some earlier reports that circulated following the incident. Authorities later located the minor in a hilltop area behind the school and safely brought him into their custody without any reported injuries.
After being rescued, the student was accompanied by his parent or guardian and brought to the Camalig Municipal Police Station for the proper procedures.
