Following his Visit to Naga City, Marcos Jr. OKs Release of P500 Million SARO

MARCOS JR. – The President granted the a P500 million fund to Naga for repair activities including that of the Jesse Robredo Coliseum.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos and former Vice President and Naga Mayor Leni Robredo recently met in her city for the Oplan Kontra Baha. The Chief Executive visited the city of his former presidential race rival to check on the Sagop Creek amid the flood control problem in the Philippines.

Robredo warmly welcomed Marcos Jr. and their meeting undeniably sparked different speculations and opinions. There are speculations that the move was allegedly political as it transpired just shortly after Vice Pres. Sara Duterte revealed that she will run for president in 2028.

Both Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and former VP and Naga Mayor Leni Robredo claimed that the visit of the Chief Executive to the city has long been scheduled even before Vic Pres. Sara Duterte announced her presidential bid. The Naga Mayor also stressed that Naga is not the only city that the President visited for the program.

Bongbong Marcos, Leni Robredo, Pink Socks

Pres. Bongbong Marcos stressed that the only political thing that he did during his visit was wearing his pink socks in honor of Mayor Leni Robredo. Both of them agreed that they should do their jobs first before any political move.

Marcos Jr. stressed that he visited Naga as Bicol is often the pathway of the storms that hit the country. According to Robredo, the amount of rain that falls in the city is usually over the amount of rain brought by strong typhoon Yolanda. Following his visit a the Sagop Creek, the President released Special Allotment Release Order (SARO) for Naga City.

Marcos Jr. approved the release of the Special Allotment Release Order (SARO) amounting to P500 million to fund the repairs in Naga City. The fund is intended to be used in the repair of the Jesse Robredo Coliseum, the Metro Naga Sports Complex, and the Naga City Civic Center.

According to News5, former Vice President and Naga Mayor Leni Robredo is currently at the Malacañang Palace for the launching of the “Bagong Pilipinas, Bawat Bayan Makinabang”. Based on the post, it aims to boost the support of the national government to the local government.

Previously, amid the calls for her to run for president again in the next national polls, former Vice President and Naga Mayor Leni Robredo was asked about her reaction to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte announcing her presidential bid in 2028.
