IC Mendoza reacted to this statement of Migz Zubiri
Senator Migz Zubiri mentioned the late iconic TV host Inday Badiday, and this did not sit well with showbiz personality IC Mendoza.
IC is the grandchild of the late “Queen of Intrigues,” whose real name was Lourdez Carvajal. Zubiri’s mention of Inday Badiday came from Sen. Imee Marcos’s “propaganda video,” which was shown during the Senate plenary session.
Marcos accused Zubiri of being in favor of pushing for charter change through a constitutional assembly. The male senator was angered by this claim from the female senator, based on the article in PEP.

“I just want to point out that the video that the lady senator presented was obviously opinionated, a propaganda tool, right? It should be stricken off the record…” Zubiri said.
He also said that if Sen. Marcos is angry with the government, she is free to express it and criticize the administration of her brother, President Bongbong Marcos.
However, Sen. Migz Zubiri stressed that Sen. Marcos should not drag others, like him, who have nothing to do with the issue.
Zubiri asserted that no conversation happened between him and Sen. Tito Sotto regarding charter change, because they knew that he opposes this.

With this, Zubiri said, “Inday Badiday na ba tayo rito sa Senado? Kaya nga sinasabi we’re circus. I apologize to those watching, they think we’re circus,” adding that this kind of language is unparliamentary.
IC Mendoza criticized Sen. Migz Zubiri for dragging the name of his grandmother, who already passed away a long time ago.

In his Facebook post, IC said, “Please do not disrespect the legacy of my late mommy Luds. She was more than showbiz chika and intrigues.”
The showbiz personality also stressed that Inday Badiday helped shape the pop culture and the entertainment journalism landscape during her time. For IC, Zubiri’s mention of his grandmother was an act of “reducing her name and legacy to describe the ‘circus’ happening in the Senate.” IC stressed that this is offensive.
“Ang tagal nang patay ng lola ko. Please leave her out of your political commentaries and analogies,” Inday Badiday’s grandchild said.
