Pasay Police Officer Disarmed and Set to Face Charges After Allegedly Abusing Live-in Partner
A police officer assigned to Pasay City has been relieved from duty and disarmed after his live-in partner accused him of repeatedly abusing her and threatening her with a gun over jealousy.
The woman, identified as Kara, filed a complaint with the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM), accusing the Police Staff Sergeant of physical, emotional, and mental abuse during their six-year relationship.
Kara also filed a criminal complaint under the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004.

According to Kara, the abuse began on December 15, 2022, when the officer allegedly pointed a gun at her while they were inside a vehicle. She also claimed that he frequently kept his firearm within reach, even while at home or cooking, explaining that his assignment required him to guard their area.
The woman shared video from their home security cameras that allegedly showed incidents of physical abuse. The recordings drew concern from NAPOLCOM officials, who stressed that there was no acceptable reason for repeatedly hurting a woman.
The victim said she had previously reported the officer to the police and had the incidents recorded at Camp Crame. However, she later stopped pursuing the complaint because of their child and her hope that they could settle their differences before Christmas.
NAPOLCOM Vice Chairperson and Executive Officer Rafael Vicente Calinisan said the commission would look into the earlier complaints and identify the police personnel who knew about the alleged abuse.
Calinisan stressed that officers who received such reports should have taken appropriate action, even after the victim withdrew her complaint.
The commission has directed its Inspection, Monitoring and Investigation Service to speed up the investigation and prepare the necessary administrative charges against the officer.
The police officer was also ordered relieved from his post and disarmed, while authorities are working to issue a 60-day preventive suspension.
He arrived late for his scheduled appearance at NAPOLCOM, reportedly because of traffic. His immediate superior said the officer had been unwilling to accompany him to the commission.
