Pastor Arrested Over Alleged Abuse of 3 Minor Church Members

A 51-year-old pastor has been arrested over allegations that he sexually abused three underage female members of his church inside its compound in Marikina City.

On Wednesday afternoon, October 14, 2026, the pastor was arrested at a clubhouse in Baras, Rizal, through a warrant issued by the Marikina City Family Court Branch 7. He was also listed as the second most wanted person at the Marikina City Police Station for October.

Police investigations showed that the alleged abuse involving three girls, aged 8, 9, and 15, began in 2023. The 15-year-old victim reportedly experienced repeated abuse, which allegedly continued until 2024.

According to Marikina City police chief Police Colonel Jenny Tecson, the alleged incidents happened inside the church compound shortly after worship services. Authorities said the victims’ relative formally filed a complaint in April 2026, leading to the issuance of the arrest warrant on October 8.

Tecson explained that victims of abuse sometimes take time to report their experiences because of fear. She also noted that people accused of wrongdoing may take advantage of their positions of authority, making it difficult for victims to speak out.

The pastor denied the allegations, suggesting that the complaint may have stemmed from a misunderstanding. He expressed sadness over the accusations and maintained that he had done nothing wrong.

Despite his denial, the pastor remains in police custody as he faces four counts of statutory acts of lasciviousness. The recommended bail for the charges totals P432,000.

Police also encouraged people experiencing any form of abuse to seek help immediately. Tecson reminded the public that they could call the country’s unified emergency hotline, 911, without needing mobile phone credit.

Calls are answered by an emergency operations center, which can then coordinate with the nearest police station for assistance.

Authorities continue to handle the case through the legal process. The allegations against the pastor have yet to be proven in court, and he is presumed innocent unless found guilty.
