Police Officer Dismissed From Post for Groping Woman Inside Sari-Sari Store
A police officer has been removed from his post after allegedly groping a woman inappropriately inside a sari-sari store.
On September 8, 2026, police master sergeant was dismissed from his position after allegedly touching a woman’s buttocks inappropriately inside a sari-sari store in Barangay 171, Bagumbong, Caloocan City.
The woman reportedly sought help after the incident, but her complaint was allegedly not acted on immediately. She later approached a major television network to raise the matter and seek assistance.

Following the complaint, the officer, identified only as alias JRT, was relieved from his post and placed under restrictive custody. His service firearm was also taken from him while authorities conducted further investigations.
The police officer may face criminal and administrative complaints, including acts of lasciviousness, grave misconduct, and a possible violation of the Safe Spaces Act, also known as the Anti-Bastos Law.
Northern Police District Director Brig. Gen. Benliner Capili also ordered Caloocan police chief Col. Joey Goforth to investigate the personnel assigned to the Bagumbong Police Sub-Station. The review will look into possible lapses, negligence, or mistakes in the handling of the woman’s initial complaint.
Police authorities said complaints involving members of the force must be treated seriously and acted promptly based on available evidence and existing laws and regulations.
The investigation will determine what happened during the incident and whether the allegations against the officer can be established through evidence.
The Northern Police District also stressed the importance of professionalism, accountability, and respect for every person’s rights and dignity.
Authorities said proper procedures will be followed as the criminal and administrative investigations continue. The officer will be given due process while investigators gather evidence and determine the appropriate action based on their findings.
Police officials also assured the public that personnel found to have violated the law or police rules will be held accountable.
