Brave Police Officer Rescues Driver from Burning Car
A police officer shows courage in rescuing driver from a burning car during a late-night accident in Mandaue City.
Around 2:00 AM on April 12, 2026, the incident happened along the Flyover in Barangay Maguikay on M.C. Briones Street.
According to reports, the accident involved a dump truck and a private vehicle. The strong impact caused the car to catch fire almost immediately, putting the trapped driver in serious danger.
People nearby were alarmed as flames quickly spread, making the situation even more critical.
Police officers who were on duty in the area quickly noticed the incident and rushed to help. They immediately called for assistance from firefighters and medical responders while taking action on the scene.
Despite the risk, one of the officers, Patrolman Glenn C. Rosales, worked together with concerned bystanders to rescue the driver trapped inside the burning vehicle.
They managed to pull the driver out just in time before the flames became uncontrollable. At the same time, Patrolman Warren F. Cloma focused on securing the area and managing the flow of traffic to prevent further accidents.
Fire and rescue units soon arrived and successfully put out the fire. The police also helped control the crowd and ensured that the area became safe again after the incident. Those involved were given immediate assistance, while the dump truck driver was brought to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The case has now been referred to the Traffic Enforcement Unit for further investigation to determine what caused the accident.
