Senior Citizen Lost His Life After Allegedly Attacked by Group of Young Men in Nueva Ecija

A 62-year-old senior citizen died after he was allegedly attacked and beaten by six young men in Bongabon, Nueva Ecija. 

According to police authorities, the victim was reportedly on his way home aboard his tricycle when he noticed that several of his neighbors were following him. The incident happened on May 14, 2026, in Barangay Kaingin.

Investigators said the suspects were all young men living in the same community. When the victim arrived near his home in Purok 6, the group allegedly surrounded and attacked him. Police said the victim was repeatedly punched and beaten by the suspects during the assault. 

Based on the investigation, one of the suspects allegedly struck the victim several times with a piece of wood while he was already lying helpless on the road. The brutal attack caused serious injuries to different parts of the victim’s body. 

Residents in the area immediately sought help from the police after learning about the incident. The victim was rushed to the Bongabon District Hospital for emergency treatment, but doctors later declared him dead on arrival because of the severe injuries he suffered. 

Authorities quickly launched an operation to locate the suspects. Four of them later surrendered voluntarily to the police, while the remaining two were arrested during a hot pursuit operation conducted by authorities. 

All six suspects are now under the custody of the Bongabon Municipal Police Station and are facing murder charges in connection with the killing. 

Police officers continue to investigate the incident to determine the motive behind the attack. Authorities are also gathering more statements and evidence related to the case.  

Authorities reminded the public to avoid violence and resolve conflicts peacefully, especially within communities where neighbors are expected to protect and respect one another.
