Store Owner Injured After Being Shot During Robbery Incident in Cavite
A store owner in Bacoor was injured after being shot during a robbery incident at Barangay Molino in Bacoor, Cavite.
On Monday afternoon, April 27, 2026, the frightening incident was captured on CCTV footage, showing how the suspect pretended to be an ordinary customer before carrying out the attack. According to reports, the man first entered the store and bought a bottle of water to avoid raising suspicion.
While the store owner was busy turning around to hand over the item, the suspect secretly prepared for the robbery. The video showed the suspect using a small platform or stool before suddenly grabbing the necklace worn by the victim.
The store owner quickly rushed outside and tried to stop the suspect from escaping. During the struggle, the suspect pulled out a gun. The victim attempted to block the getaway by kicking the suspect’s motorcycle, but the situation quickly turned violent.
The suspect then fired several shots at the victim before speeding away from the area. Witnesses said the victim suffered gunshot wounds in the thigh and stomach, with one bullet reportedly passing through the body.
Residents and security personnel immediately responded and rushed the victim to the hospital. The store owner underwent surgery and is now reported to be in stable condition while recovering from the injuries.
Authorities from the Bacoor Police later arrested the suspect following the incident. Barangay officials believe the same individual may also be connected to a series of necklace-snatching incidents reported in the area earlier this year. Investigators noticed similarities in the helmet and motorcycle used in the crimes.
Following the incident, village officials and the homeowner’s association promised to strengthen security measures in the community to help prevent similar crimes from happening again.
The victim’s family chose not to give any public statement as the victim continues to recover from the traumatic incident.
