Male Suspect Steals E-Tricycle in Marikina City After Pretending to Urinate in Nearby Parked Vehicle
A male suspect pretends to urinate near a parked vehicle before stealing an electric tricycle used by a water refilling station in Marikina City.
On early Friday morning, October 9, 2026, a man caught on CCTV allegedly stole an electric tricycle used by a water refilling station in Barangay Concepcion Dos, Marikina City.
The video showed the unidentified suspect roaming outside the establishment shortly after 3 a.m. He appeared to stop beside a white multicab parked near the e-tricycle and pretended to urinate before climbing onto the electric vehicle and driving away.
The e-tricycle was left with its key in place, allowing the suspect to start it easily and escape. Employees of the water refilling station woke up and tried to chase him, but he had already gotten away
John Joseph Checa, a staff member who regularly used the vehicle, said he was surprised to discover that someone had driven it away. The suspect reportedly sped off before they could catch up with him.
The stolen e-tricycle was worth around P65,000 and had been used by the business for almost two years. Its loss caused considerable trouble for owner Ernest Joseph Santos, who had to purchase another unit immediately to keep their delivery operations running.
Santos appealed to the suspect to return the vehicle and offered a P10,000 reward to anyone who could provide information leading to the identification of the person responsible.
The owner and his employees also sought help from barangay officials and the police.
According to Barangay Concepcion Dos executive officer Nonie Abadam, local officials were already familiar with the suspect, who had reportedly been confronted in April for collecting scrap materials in the area late at night.
Meanwhile, Marikina police continued their follow-up operations to locate and arrest the suspect, who could face a carnapping charge.
