Teen w/ Autism in Davao City Passes Away After Stabbing Incident
A 15-year-old teen with autism lost his life following a stabbing incident in Barangay 1-A, Magallanes, Davao City.
According to police authorities, neighbors became alarmed after hearing cries and calls for help coming from the area. Concerned residents immediately checked what was happening and discovered the teenager lying on the ground covered in blood.
The victim was quickly rushed to the hospital for treatment. However, doctors later declared him dead on arrival due to the severe injuries he suffered.
Authorities immediately launched an investigation to identify the person responsible for the crime. Through the help of CCTV footage gathered from the area, police were able to identify the suspect as a 55-year-old man who also lives in the same barangay.
Investigators said the video footage allegedly showed the suspect leaving his house before attacking the victim with a knife. The disturbing incident left many residents saddened, especially because the victim was still very young and was known to have autism.
Police later arrested the suspect at around 2:00 in the morning on Thursday, April 30, 2026. Despite the arrest, authorities were unable to recover the knife believed to have been used in the crime.
According to investigators, the suspect allegedly threw the weapon into a nearby creek after the incident.
During the investigation, police said the suspect claimed that the victim had been interfering with his bicycle, which allegedly triggered the attack. Authorities are still looking deeper into the case to understand the full details behind the incident.
