Woman Loses P6,000 Cash After She Forgets it at ATM During Withdrawal Transaction
A 22-year-old woman in Kalibo, Aklan, reported the loss of P6,000 after she accidentally left the cash at an ATM following a withdrawal transaction.
Around 3:40 p.m. on August 13, 2026, the woman was in a hurry and had a lot on her mind at the time. After completing her transaction, she took her ATM card but unknowingly left the cash that had already been dispensed by the machine along Osmeña Avenue in Barangay Estancia.
It was only later that she realized the money was missing. She immediately reported the incident to the Kalibo Municipal Police Station and sought assistance from the bank.

The ATM successfully released the P6,000 requested by the account holder, based on information provided by the bank. Initial findings indicated that a man who was next in line after the woman may have taken the cash left in the machine.
The amount was reportedly intended for school-related expenses, making the loss even more difficult for the woman. The supposed important educational payments suddenly disappeared because of oversight.
Bank officials are now reviewing CCTV footage to identify the man seen near the ATM during the incident. The video review is expected to help determine exactly what happened and whether the cash was indeed taken by another person after it was left behind.

Many netizens expressed their sympathy for the woman and reminding others to double-check their transactions before leaving an ATM. Some also stressed the importance of honesty and returning money that does not belong to them.
Authorities continue to coordinate with the bank as the investigation moves forward. They hope the CCTV footage will provide clear information that could help locate the person involved and possibly recover the money intended for the woman’s school expenses.
