29 animal remains, including 26 dogs and 3 cats, were reportedly dumped in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.

SAN JOSE DEL MONTE, BULACAN – An alarming animal welfare incident has sparked concern among animal lovers after 29 animal remains, consisting of 26 dogs and three cats, were reportedly discovered in a vacant lot in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.

According to a Facebook post shared by Luna and Furry Siblings, concerned individuals are now working to identify the animals and determine how their remains ended up in the area. The discovery has also prompted calls for pet owners, veterinary clinics, and animal aftercare providers to help provide information that could shed light on the incident.

The group revealed that volunteers personally visited six veterinary clinics and two pet crematory services to gather possible leads. They also expressed their gratitude to PetMed Animal Clinic for lending them a microchip scanner to help identify the animals.

Unfortunately, none of the 29 animals reportedly had detectable microchips. However, volunteers found that several individual bags containing the remains had names and recorded weights written on them.

Among the dogs listed were Sakura, weighing 14.5 kilograms; Sweet, 14.8 kilograms; Brandon, 28.4 kilograms; another Brandon, 29.9 kilograms; Red, 3.8 kilograms; Dos, 2.5 kilograms; Ivy, 14.6 kilograms; Jedy, 2.14 kilograms; Crunch, 20.1 kilograms; Akira, 18.1 kilograms; and Jennifer, 3.5 kilograms. Another dog named Dara was also included, although its weight was not indicated.

Meanwhile, three cats were identified as Ira, described as a calico cat; Lucky, a black cat weighing 2.4 kilograms; and Chelsea, weighing 2.2 kilograms.

The group emphasized that two separate dogs were listed under the name Brandon, with different recorded weights.

In its public appeal, the group urged pet owners in San Jose del Monte and nearby areas to check their veterinary records, receipts, and pet aftercare documents.

Those who recently lost a pet, arranged euthanasia, surrendered an animal, or paid for cremation or other aftercare services within the year are encouraged to check whether their records match any of the names and weights released.

The group is also asking anyone who recognizes the listed animals to contact them privately and provide supporting documents that could help verify the animals’ identities and trace their previous handlers.

According to the post, these records may provide important leads in determining where the remains came from and how they were handled.

The incident has raised concerns about the proper handling and disposal of animal remains, particularly when pet owners entrust veterinary clinics and aftercare providers with their beloved companions.

The group also shared that formal investigative action by local authorities was delayed because of the holiday period. In the meantime, volunteers have continued their efforts to gather information and encourage the public to help identify the animals.

Authorities and relevant agencies may need to examine available records and evidence to establish the circumstances surrounding the discovery and determine whether any laws or regulations were violated.

The public is likewise reminded to avoid spreading unverified accusations against particular establishments or individuals while the matter remains under investigation.

Through its post, Luna And Furry Siblings appealed to the public to share the information in local San Jose del Monte community groups, Bulacan-based pages, breed communities, and animal welfare organizations.

The group hopes that increased public awareness will help locate people who may recognize the animals and provide information that could assist in establishing what happened.

The campaign continues under the hashtag #JusticeForCSJDM29, with supporters calling for answers and accountability for the 29 animals.

People who have relevant information are encouraged to reach out through the original Facebook post.
