Ramon Tulfo clarifies that Juan Ponce Enrile is still alive.
Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Juan Ponce Enrile is still alive, according to Ramon Tulfo’s social media post.
Senator Jinggoy Estrada announced on the Senate floor on Tuesday that the chief presidential legal counsel, Juan Ponce Enrile, was sent to the intensive care unit of an undisclosed hospital due to pneumonia.
According to the senator, Enrile has a small chance of surviving this.
He said before his audience, “I have just received a very, very sad information that our former colleague, former Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile, is currently in the intensive care unit of an undisclosed hospital suffering from pneumonia. And I heard from a reliable source, very, very reliable source that he has slim chances of surviving.”
Enrile is already 101 years old, and his family has yet to issue a statement on the matter. Recently, amid the reports about his hospitalization, a lot of false narratives and fake news about his death emerged online.
In a social media post, Ramon Tulfo clarified the false stories circulating online and revealed that as of 9:08 PM on November 11, Enrile is still alive. This information has come from his son, Juan “Jack” Ponce Enrile Jr.
The son, however, relayed that Enrile “may go anytime soon.”
In the same post, Tulfo wrote that based on official records, Enrile is 101 years of age. However, based on the documents retrieved from the Aglipayan church in Cagayan, it turned out he was actually born on June 22, 1922. This means he is now 103 years old.
Tulfo wrote, “According to official records, Old Man Ponce Enrile is 101 years of age. But Jack said records retrieved at the Aglipayan church in Cagayan show that Juan Ponce Enrile was born on June 22, 1922. That makes him 103 years old!”
