An arrest warrant was officially served to Sarah Discaya
On Thursday, December 18, 2025, government contractor Sarah Discaya was emotional when the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) served the arrest warrant against her.
Discaya became controversial after her company was named as one of the government contractors allegedly involved in the anomalous flood control projects of the Department of Public Works and Highways.
In line with this issue, some of their luxury cars, featured in the YouTube vlog of veteran journalist Julius Babao, were auctioned.
Earlier this month, President Bongbong Marcos said that a warrant of arrest would be served against Sarah Discaya. After this, the government contractor surrendered to NBI; however, her camp stressed that this was not an admission of guilt but a legal strategy.
In an interview while she was already in the custody of NBI, Discaya said that she was worried about her children’s welfare since they have ADHD. DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon said that the government contractor should pity her victims.
In a video posted by GMA Integrated News, it showed that Sarah Discaya was crying when the arrest warrant was officially served. This is in line with the P96.5-million ghost flood control project in Davao Occidental. Graft and malversation complaints were also filed against Discaya. At the NBI office, the personnel helped her wear the NBI yellow detainee shirt.
