Police Respond After Young Cyclists Report Being Chased by Allegedly Drunk Motorcyclists in Palawan
A group of young cyclists sought help from authorities after they were allegedly chased by several drunk motorcyclists.
On Sunday afternoon, September 27, 2027, the incident began after a collision involving one of the cyclists and a motorcyclist in Barangay Malcampo, Roxas, Palawan. The road accident quickly turned into a tense situation that left the young riders frightened.
The cyclists said the motorcyclists blamed them for the incident and later followed them along the road. The young riders claimed that the group became aggressive and repeatedly tried to stop them while they were attempting to leave the area.
A video taken during the commotion showed one of the cyclists falling to the ground after being pushed by an upset motorcyclist. Despite the efforts of bystanders, the young riders said the confrontation did not immediately end. They claimed the motorcyclists continued to pursue them even after they had already tried to escape.
Fearing for their safety, the cyclists decided to run from the area. In the rush to get away, they were forced to leave one of their bicycles behind while taking the remaining bikes with them. Their main concern at the time was avoiding further trouble and reaching a safe place.
The cyclists reported it to the Roxas Municipal Police Station. Officers immediately responded and began gathering information about what happened. Authorities also worked to identify the motorcyclists mentioned in the complaint filed by cyclists.
