A non-voter of Pasig City asked this question to Mayor Vico Sotto
Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto was featured in this Facebook post of a netizens who just rents a house in Pasig.
Mayor Vico has been known for his “good governance.” Even people outside his city are praising him for his projects and programs. He is also known for staying away from “traditional politics.”
Because of what he is doing in Pasig City, his constituents and many Filipinos outside the city, have been encouraging, or anticipating that he would run for a higher position in 2028. However, after he was elected as Mayor for his third term, he stressed that he will not be running in the next national elections.
In a recent Facebook post shared by netizen Mhecz Conde, who is living in Pasig but her voter registration is in another city, a question was directed at Mayor Vico Sotto.
“Mawalang galang na po, tanong ko lang, ganito nyo ba itrato ang mga tao na hindi botante ng PASIG?!?!” the netizen asked.
Conde said they are just renting a house in Pasig but they still gets the benefits that the registered Pasig residents get. She shared that they also get the famous Christmas Gift pack of the Pasig government, and this was done without the list, which was common in other cities.
“Hindi kami botante ng Barangay Santolan pero nagbibigay ng bigas yung baranagay namin na walang zone leaser na taga lista,” the netizen shared.
She added that they also recieved the emergency go bag for the disaster preparedness program of the city. Conde also mentioned that even during the pandemic, the Pasig government was actively assisting them with “ayuda.”
“Hindi kami botante ng Pasig pero parehas ang trato nyo at ng barangay chairman ng santolan sa tulad namin na nangungupahan lang!!!” Conde shared. She added that she is not yet a senior citizen but if this was the case, she would be also one of those who will receive the “pay out.”
“Ganito nyo ba kami itrato??? Sa pagkakaalam ko sa ibang lungsod hindi naman ganito ha,” the netizen asked Mayor Vico Sotto. In the comment section of Conde’s post, she received reactions reflecting her thoughts and experiences as someone living in Pasig City. Previously, veteran singer Renz Verano also praised Mayor Vico for the city’s “ayuda” which was worth more than P500.
