Gas Companies to Impose Another Big-Time Oil Price Hike Set Next Week
FUEL PRICE UPDATE – Gasoline stations in the country are set to implement another big-time oil price hike starting next week.
Motorists may need to prepare for another round of fuel price increases starting Tuesday (September 15, 2026) as rising global oil prices continue to put pressure on local pump rates.
Based on recent trading movements in the international market, gasoline prices could increase by as much as P5 to P6 per liter, while diesel and kerosene may also see hikes ranging from P4 to P5 per liter.
Earlier industry estimates were slightly lower, but continued gains in world oil prices during the week pushed projections higher.
The expected increase comes as tensions in the Middle East remain elevated. Ongoing conflicts involving Iran, Israel, and the United States have raised concerns about possible disruptions in oil supply, causing traders and markets to react cautiously. As a result, crude oil and refined fuel prices have continued to climb.
Diesel prices have been supported by strong seasonal demand and limited global supply. Reduced exports from major oil-producing regions, including parts of the Middle East and Russia, have added pressure to the market.
Lower shipments from the United States have also contributed to supply concerns.
Gasoline prices have risen even faster due to strong demand across Asia. Supply challenges have been made worse by lower exports from China, scheduled maintenance at several refineries in the region, and restrictions affecting fuel shipments from other producing countries.
Oil companies are expected to announce their final price adjustments on Monday, September 14, 2026, with the new rates taking effect the following day.
The possible increase comes just days after fuel companies implemented another major adjustment, raising gasoline prices by P4.69 per liter, diesel by P5.18 per liter, and kerosene by P5.58 per liter.
