Authorities Identifies Woman Found Dead Inside Refrigerator in Rizal Apartment
The woman whose body was discovered inside a refrigerator in a rented apartment in Rodriguez, Rizal, has been identified by her family.
The 30-year-old woman had only recently moved into the apartment and was reportedly staying there with a man believed to be her live-in partner. The apartment owner became concerned after she could no longer contact the tenant.
When she visited the unit, she noticed a strong foul smell and flies in the area, prompting her to contact authorities.
Police later found the woman’s body wrapped in a blanket and placed inside a refrigerator that had fallen on its side. Investigators believed the appliance could no longer keep the body cold, causing the strong odor.
Initial findings also suggested that the woman may have been strangled. A rope believed to be connected to the incident was recovered.
Neighbors reportedly saw the woman alive on the morning of September 10, 2026 when she received a delivery. That evening, residents heard a loud sound that may have been caused by the refrigerator falling over.
Authorities have now confirmed the victim’s identity after her father approached police and presented identification documents. PNP spokesperson Col. Allen Rae Co said the family positively identified the remains.
Investigators are also looking into a possible financial motive. According to Co, a relative told authorities that the woman had been carrying a large amount of money before her death.
Meanwhile, the Rodriguez Municipal Police Station released a photo of the victim as part of efforts to establish her identity and gather more information about the case. Authorities are appealing to anyone who may have known the woman or witnessed anything unusual around the apartment to contact the Rodriguez police.

The man who had been staying with the victim remains a person of interest and is reportedly being sought by authorities. Police also discovered that the driver’s license he submitted to the apartment owner was allegedly fake.
